2nd November 2021, The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia conducted a workshop on the Recognition of Credits Program of International Students Mobility Awards (IISMA).
This event is attended by four hundred lecturers and international office coordination of universities and higher education. Four keynote speakers were invited to present the IISMA program at their universities.
Officially opening this event, Paristiyanti Nurwardani, M.P. (the representative of The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia) delivered an opening remark. It was followed by presentations delivered by Prof. Fathul Wahid, S.T.M. Sc., Ph.D. (Rector of Universitas Islam Indonesia), Rusydi Umar, Ph.D. (Vice-rector of Academic Affairs of UAD), Dr. Rangga Almahendra, S.T. M.M. (the representative of UGM), and Diah Wihardini, B.Sc, (Hons)., M.Ed., Ph.D. (Universitas Bina Nusantara Global Director).
Due to the increasing number of IISMA awardees, the enthusiasm of each university sharply increases. It can be shown that all of the participants actively delivered respond and questions.

Syahid Al Irfan, salah satu alumni Teknik Elektro Universitas Ahmad Dahlan yang lulus pada tahun 2019. Ia merupakan salah satu penerima Program S2 Beasiswa MEXT 2021 jurusan Software and Information Science di Iwate University, Jepang. Syahid lahir pada 12 Maret 1997 di Majalengka, Jawa Barat.

Sejak duduk dibangku SMA, Syahid sudah memiliki keinginan untuk berkuliah ke luar negeri khususnya dalam bidang teknik. Namun keinginan itu sedikit sulit tercapai karena Syahid berasal dari jurusan IPS saat SMA. Setelah ia berhasil diterima di program studi Teknik Elektro di UAD melalui jalur tes. Syahid mulai mempersiapkan banyak hal yang dibutuhkan untuk mengajukan beasiswa seperti aktif dalam kegiatan kemahasiswaan dan membuat rencana untuk mengajukan beasiswa. Dari hal tersebut, ia aktif mengikuti kegiatan kemahasiswaan seperti Tim Robot, Penelitian Dosen, Student Employment/Laboran, dan Himpunan Mahasiswa. Selain itu, ia mengikuti Kontes Robot Regional pada tahun 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, dan Kontes Robot Nasional pada tahun 2018 dan 2019.

Dalam perjalanan suksesnya mendapatkan beasiswa, Syahid mendapat dukungan dari kampus secara administrasi dan bantuan dari dosen. Diantaranya, Bapak Anton Yudhana ST, MT, Ph.D., selaku dosen yang berperan penting saat berjuang meraih beasiswa serta dukungan baik dari akademis maupun spiritual dan Bapak Nuryono Satya Widodo, ST, M.Eng., selaku dosen pembimbing tugas akhir dan tim robot. Berkat bantuan dari beliau, Syahid mendapatkan ilmu yang diperlukan khususnya dalam bidang yang ditekuni.

Dukungan dan dorongan dari keluarga, dosen, dan teman-temannya membuatnya lulus Beasiswa Master MEXT. Ia berbagi tips untuk teman-teman yang ingin melanjutkan studi ke luar negeri dengan beasiswa. Yang pertama adalah Persiapan: rencana yang jelas, dokumen, dan persyaratan yang dibutuhkan, “Secara pribadi, saya menyarankan lebih cepat lebih baik, tetapi lebih baik dimulai antara semester tiga/lima” tutur Syahid. Kedua, berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan kemahasiswaan dan meningkatkan penelitian dan publikasi ilmiah karena rekam jejak sangat penting. Ketiga, rajin-rajinlah mencari info beasiswa. Terakhir, berkonsultasi dengan dosen tentang beasiswa.

Virtual MoU Signing with The Philippines on Halal Center

Yogyakarta (9/9/2021) Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD), The Industrial Technology Development Institute of The Department Of Science And Technology (DOST), and The Department Of Science And Technology Region XI officially signed MoU to observe, test, verify and produce the halal products in the Philippines.

This ceremony was officially opened by Dr. Annabelle V. Briones (Director of DOST-ITDI, the Philippines), Dr. Anthony C. Sales (Regional Director of DOST XI, the Philippines), and Dr. Mukhlas, M.T. (Rector UAD).
Following the opening ceremony, Lee Hiong Tan Wee (Ambassador of the Philippines to the Republic of Indonesia), Widya Rahmanto (Representative of Indonesian Ambassador in Manila. The Philippines) delivered speeches on ongoing cooperation between Indonesia and the Philippines. Furthermore, they also offered the possible cooperation between Indonesia and the Philippines at the universities and institutional level in halal product production and control.

The cooperation was started by MoU signing between UAD, The Industrial Technology Development Institute of The Department Of Science And Technology (DOST), and The Department Of Science And Technology Region XI, the Philippines.
In the last session, Dr. Mukhlas (Rector UAD), M.T. Dr. Annabelle V. Briones (Director DOST-ITDI, Philippines), and Dr. Anthony C. Sales (Regional director DOST XI, Philippines) signed MoU. There are several essential points mentioned in this MoU such as; Joint Research and Development, Exchange of scientists, experts, and researchers for studies, observations, and training, Conduct joint training and specialized training courses, Organization of joint conferences, symposia, workshops, and events, Promotion of collaboration between other relevant scientific institutions and organizations from the Philippines and Indonesia, halal research and development, knowledge exchange, human resources development, halal standards, and halal verification/testing.
This event also was attended by Drs. Parjiman, M.Ag. (Vice-Rector for Islamic and Muhammadiyah Affairs), Rusydi Umar, ST., M.T., Ph.D. (Vice-rector Academics Affairs), Utik Bidayati, S.E., M.M. (Vice-Rector for Finance, Aset, and General Administration), Prof. Dr. apt. Nurkhasanah, M.Si (Head of Halal Center UAD) and the staff, Anton Yudhana ST, MT, Ph.D. (The Research and Community Service Bureau) and staff, dan UAD, and partners’ staff.
